Global Wolff Parkinson White syndrome Market Size Overview Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome is a rare congenital heart disorder involving irregularities in the electrical transmission system of the heart. In WPW syndrome, an abnormal alternate electrical pathway exists resulting in arrhythmias (abnormal heartbeat rhythms) and tachycardia (faster than normal heartbeats). WPW is congenital but, symptoms may not become apparent until adolescent. Approximately 10 to 20 % of individuals with WPW syndrome have a congenital heart defect, such as Ebstein’s anomaly. The disorder’s estimated prevalence is -3 people per 1,000 people in the United States.
